Add team members, configure permissions, and work together on cases.

Adding team members

Invite co-counsel, paralegals, and staff to collaborate on cases in your organization.

Inviting team members

  1. Go to Settings → Team from the dashboard
  2. Click "Invite member"
  3. Enter their email address
  4. Select their role (see Roles and permissions below)
  5. Optionally grant access to specific cases
  6. Send the invitation

What they'll receive

Invited members get an email with:

  • Welcome message explaining Family Evidence
  • Secure link to create their account
  • Your organization and role assignment
  • Cases they have access to (if specified)

Pro tip: Team members on Firm and Enterprise plans don't count against case limits — you can add as many as your plan allows.

Roles and permissions

Control what each team member can see and do with role-based access control.

Available roles

Owner

Full control over the organization, billing, and all cases.

  • Manage subscription and billing
  • Add or remove team members
  • Access all cases
  • Configure organization settings
Admin

Manage team and cases, but not billing.

  • Invite and manage team members
  • Create and manage cases
  • Export evidence
  • Cannot access billing
Attorney

Full case access for assigned matters.

  • Create and manage assigned cases
  • Invite clients to cases
  • Upload and export evidence
  • Add attorney notes
Paralegal

Work on assigned cases with limited admin access.

  • View and upload evidence
  • Export packages
  • Cannot create cases
  • Cannot invite clients
Viewer

Read-only access to assigned cases.

  • View evidence
  • Download files
  • Cannot upload or modify

Attorney notes

Add private annotations to evidence:

  • Notes visible only to attorneys and admins
  • Not included in exports by default
  • Perfect for case strategy notes
  • Searchable within the case

Case assignment

Assign team members to specific cases:

  1. Open the case settings
  2. Go to "Team access"
  3. Add team members with their role
  4. They'll receive access immediately
